Phases of Chiropractic Care
Understanding the Phases of Chiropractic Care
At Thalia Chiropractic and Wellness, we believe chiropractic care is about more than simply addressing pain when it occurs. Our approach focuses on helping patients find relief, improve spinal function, and maintain their overall health and wellness.
Every patient is different, and care recommendations are based on individual needs, health history, and personal goals. Chiropractic care can generally be broken down into three phases.
Phase 1: Relief Care
The first phase of care focuses on addressing your current symptoms and helping you find relief from pain and discomfort. Whether you're experiencing back pain, neck pain, headaches, or other issues, the initial goal is to help reduce discomfort and improve your ability to move comfortably.
During this phase, your chiropractor will focus on the areas contributing to your symptoms and recommend appropriate treatments to support your recovery. The frequency of visits will depend on your condition, how long you've been experiencing symptoms, and how your body responds to care.
Phase 2: Corrective Care
Once your symptoms begin to improve, the next phase focuses on addressing underlying factors that may be contributing to your discomfort. Corrective care emphasizes improving spinal mobility, joint function, posture, and movement patterns to support longer-term improvements.
Even when pain begins to decrease, underlying movement restrictions or areas of dysfunction may still need attention. This phase is designed to build on the progress made during relief care and help improve overall function and stability.
Phase 3: Maintenance & Wellness Care
The final phase focuses on maintaining the progress you've made and supporting your ongoing health and wellness. Just as regular exercise and healthy habits help maintain your physical health, periodic chiropractic visits may help support spinal mobility, joint function, and overall movement.
